Two formats

Build or pitch — pick your lane.

The hackathon is for builders shipping in 48 hours of pre-conference build time plus 5 live hours of polish on Day 3. The pitch competition is for founders with a deck, traction, and the courage to face live angel feedback.

01 · Hackathon

Ship a working prototype

Pre-build between Jul 11–14, finish + demo live on Jul 15. Teams of 1–4. Working code wins — slides don’t. Cash + cloud credits + mentorship awarded to top three.

02 · Pitch Competition

Face the angel panel live

5-minute pitch, 5-minute Q&A in front of BitAngel BLI investors. Top three split the prize pool. Past winners have gone on to raise follow-on capital with panelists.

03 · Both

Demo + pitch combo

Some teams qualify for both — you build during the hackathon, then pitch what you built to investors the same day. Limited to 6 combo slots. Apply early.

How the day flows.

Challenge tracks

Build something useful in one of six directions.

01

Real-world asset tokenization

Real estate ledgers, supply-chain provenance, fractional ownership. Bonus for compliant on/off-ramps.

02

Consumer scam protection

AI deepfake detection, wallet phishing alerts, on-chain forensics for everyday users.

03

Government efficiency

Smart contracts for public procurement, identity, benefits delivery, or land records.

04

DeFi for non-traders

Tools that help families budget, save, or earn yield without needing to read a yield-farming guide.

05

Compliance & reporting

1099-DA automation, MTL workflows, AML/KYC tooling for small operators and advisors.

06

Open track

Anything else that demonstrates novel use of blockchain, AI, or hybrid AI+blockchain primitives.

Judging panel

Investors, builders, regulators — all in one room.

Confirmed judges represent venture capital, corporate strategy, and the regulatory community. Pitches go through a panel that asks the same questions a real fundraise would.

Apply via email with team name, brief project description, and links to prior work. We confirm within 5 business days. Limited to 30 hackathon teams and 24 pitch teams.

Got a prototype or a pitch? We want to see it.

Applications close July 1, 2026. Limited to 30 hackathon teams and 24 pitch teams. Early applicants get priority mentor matching.
